Caraway Cookies

Yields about four dozen

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon caraway seed, lightly crushed


  1. Cream the butter with the sugar.
  2. Add eggs one by one and incorporate thoroughly.
  3. Add caraway and flour a little a time, stir well.
  4. Use two teaspoons to shape the cookies the size of a nutmeg (about 1 inch) and place them on buttered baking sheets.
  5. Bake at 350F about 15 minutes, until light brown.
