From now through November 12, book a table at any of these restaurants to dig into seafood-filled meals.

When it comes to feasting on seafood, there are so many delicious possibilities that it can be hard to know where to start. This is especially true during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week (HVRW), when the top eateries in the region showcase their culinary talents with special menus at prix-fixe prices. Throughout the Valley, local restaurants do seafood lovers a solid with everything from artful appetizers to perfectly plated pastas.

Are you getting hungry? Here’s where you can indulge your seafood craving in the Hudson Valley during Restaurant Week.

3 Westerly Bar & Grill

Ossining

With its nautical theme, 3 Westerly is a no-brainer for seafood dishes. On its HVRW menu, the Westchester restaurant offers not one, but two options for surf lovers. Start strong with the fried calamari, which comes with a saffron jalapeno aioli. When it’s time for the main course, look no further than the double tuna roll, a sushi-style roll that includes spicy tuna tartare, tuna sashimi, Asian pear, jalapeno, and yuzu tobiko.

Aroma Thai & Oriental

Valley Cottage

If Thai food is what you crave, then you’ll adore the Restaurant Week offerings at this Valley Cottage hotspot. Kick things off with the shrimp dynamite for your appetizer, then follow things up with the butter garlic shrimp if you want to stick with the seafood theme. By the time dessert rolls around, you’ll be ready for a sweet finish with either the mango sticky rice or chestnut pannacotta.

Bixby’s Derby

Monticello

Heading up to Resorts World Catskills for the weekend? Don’t forget to book a table at Bixby’s Derby if you go. The tavern and taproom offers three seafood-centric dishes on its fall HVRW menu. On the appetizer front, diners can choose between the seared crab cake, which features a Maryland-style crab cake with remoulade and celery root salad, or the sushi pizza, a showstopper of a dish with ahi tuna, fried sushi rice, jalapeno, avocado, tobiko, cilantro, and yum yum sauce. For the entrée, make a beeline for the shrimp and grits, a dish that pairs seared shrimp and cheddar grits with charred tomato, Spanish chorizo, scallions, and dehydrated corn.

Char Steakhouse & Bar

Mahopac

You might not think a steakhouse would be the first place to go for seafood, but you certainly shouldn’t pass up a visit to Char. On its Restaurant Week menu, the Mahopac destination offers a classic shrimp cocktail and Asian calamari, the latter which comes with sliced hot cherry peppers, oriental sesame sauce, chopped scallion, and a wasabi fusion dip. When the main course rolls around, diners have three seafood options from which to choose. Lovers of Italian food will fall head over heels for the linguine vongole, which features Long Island littlenecks and chopped clams simmered in a white wine, garlic, and parsley broth over linguine. For those who want something special, the bourbon-glazed salmon, featuring Faroe Island salmon with a sweet and savory bourbon sauce and sides of sauteed spinach and roasted potatoes, is the way to go. Of course, anyone who wants a little turf with their surf won’t want to skip out on the Char Surf & Turf, an order that pairs flat iron steak with three shrimp in a traditional scampi sauce alongside mashed potatoes and roasted seasonal vegetables.

Half Moon

Dobbs Ferry

Half Moon does seafood-themed dishes for both lunch and dinner in Dobbs Ferry. While options vary slightly between the afternoon and evening menus, keep an eye out for tapas like shrimp and chorizo, mussel escabeche, and lobster with romesco sauce. Appetizers keep the trend going, with dishes like New England clam chowder, a half dozen oysters (for a $10 supplement), crispy calamari, shrimp tacos, jumbo lump crab cake, and baked clams on the roster. For the main course, diners can’t go wrong with the seared flounder sandwich, steamed mussels, plancha seared salmon ($10 supplement), or roasted codfish.

Mill & Main

Kerhonkson

Mill & Main’s Restaurant Week menu is fun, with a variety of flavors rounding out the lineup of offerings. After diners whet their appetites with appetizers like Caribbean mushroom patties and Island wings, then can dig into the primary seafood dish on the menu. It’s a pan-seared brook trout limoncello with roasted leeks and toasted almonds, and it’s the sort of thing that will have you wondering how you could possibly recreate such a delicious entrée at home. Finish things off with a slice of chocolate ricotta cheesecake for a dinner for the books.
