Paul Halayko - Pres/CEO, Newburgh Brewing Company
Why do I love Hudson Valley craft beer? Because craft beer represents the Hudson Valley at its finest. Craft beer in the Hudson Valley is a celebration of what is so incredible about our region–passionate entrepreneurs, a rich bounty of ingredients, and a strong spirit of collaboration with local partners. The breweries in the Hudson Valley share a camaraderie that is unique–we don't view each other as competitors, but rather as partners. The stronger the depth and breadth of the breweries in the Hudson Valley, the more the Hudson Valley can be a destination for beer lovers world-wide. There has never been a better time to be a craft beer enthusiast in the Hudson Valley.
Tracy Maxon - Varmax Liquor Pantry, Port Chester
Varmax Liquor Pantry supports New York-produced craft beverages for several reasons. Many of the products that we work with are a labor of love for the proprietors. Being a family owned and operated business, we love seeing people putting all of their efforts into producing their craft products, and realizing their dreams. With all of the hands-on work and passion that goes into local products, consumers are getting something that is truly hand-made. This approach is most apparent in the quality of the products.
Josh Zimmermann, Hudson Valley Ale Works, Highland
The Hudson Valley is an incredible landscape and the area is booming with opportunity. Born and raised in Highland, NY, the brewers and owners of Hudson Ale Works knew that establishing a brewery in their hometown would not only help the craft movement and attract local and regional enthusiasts, but would also help the local business economy. Perfectly placed in close proximity to the majestic Hudson River, Walkway Over the Hudson, Hudson Valley Rail Trail, numerous Wineries, distilleries, breweries and state parks, there is no shortage of fun activities for visitors to do while supporting local businesses. The Hamlet of Highland has untapped potential and these young entrepreneurs hope that their story will inspire others to become entrepreneurs themselves and provide goods and services to those who want to support the “think local” craft movement.
Kenn Brodmerkel, Cornwall Wines & Spirits
The quality and selection is outstanding, and is growing every day. It’s good stuff.
